Antinomy of sensory. Antinomia do sensório

Um percurso matinal com a companhia de alguns amigos. As cores da manhã por entre a neblina: Prata, verdes, rosas e magentas. O castanho terra e o violeta. Depois o azul que banha os diversos planos do horizonte. Esta é a sensação que retenho na minha memória. Na pintura acentuo essa sensação de despojamento e desapego que emana da paisagem. A contradição (a antinomia) está em conseguir fazer isso recorrendo a uma expressão rica em camadas de tinta para descrever essa impressão. Ao longe, no limite do plano infinito, recortado na paisagem as árvores sugerem a forma de um templo grego, símbolo da natureza, da sabedoria e do tempo eterno. Afinal estamos na barragem chamada "Barragem dos Minutos".


One morning journey with the company of some friends. The colors of the morning through the mist: Silver, green, pink and magenta. The brown earth and violet.  Then we have the blue, which surrounds the various planes of the skyline. In the oil painting I accentuate  this sense of detachment and dispassion that emanates from the landscape. The contradiction (the antinomy)  is using an expression rich on layers of paint to describe that impression. By far the limit of infinite plane, clipped trees in the landscape suggest the form of a Greek temple, a symbol of nature, wisdom and eternal time. After all we are in the dam called "Dam of Minutes".

Em colaboração com a pintora Felícia Trales e com a empenhada coordenação da D. Graça Saraiva, vamos organizar uma experiência de pintura ao ar livre (en plein air) nas herdades do Gavião/Gaviãozinho no concelho da Chamusca no primeiro fim de semana de Junho: 5 e 6 de Junho de 2010.
In collaboration with the painter Felicia Trales, and coordination of D. Graça Saraiva, we are holding an experience of painting outdoors (en plein air) at the estates of the Gavião / Gaviãozinho Chamusca - Portugal-  on the first weekend of June: 5 and June 6, 2010.

O Montado é fonte de inspiração para a minha pintura. Mas falar de Dordio Gomes e Carlos de Bragança são referências obrigatórias.
"The Montado as Root Cultural and Artistic Inspiration" is the title of my speech by 15h15.The "Mounted" is a source of inspiration for my painting. But speaking of Dordio Gomes and Carlos Bragança are required references.

Aguarela para Desenho Científico - Watercolor to Scientific Drawing

This is some work for my Drawing master's degree at the Fine Arts Faculty in Lisbon in 2007. I did this two types of Quercus with watercolor (dry technique) as an exercise for Scientific Drawing.


Este é um trabalho para o meu mestrado em Desenho na Faculdade de Belas Artes em Lisboa em 2007. Eu fiz este dois tipos de Quercus com aguarela (técnica seca) como exercício para Desenho Científico.

O retoque final: Verniz, grafite, pastel seco e mais verniz. Com a intenção de aumentar a textura do suporte.
The final retouch: Varnish, graphite, dry pastel and more varnish. With the intention of increase the texture of the support.
