"O Montado como Raiz Cultural e Inspiração Artística" é o título da minha intervenção pelas 15h15.
O Montado é fonte de inspiração para a minha pintura. Mas falar de Dordio Gomes e Carlos de Bragança são referências obrigatórias.
"The Montado as Root Cultural and Artistic Inspiration" is the title of my speech by 15h15.The "Mounted" is a source of inspiration for my painting. But speaking of Dordio Gomes and Carlos Bragança are required references.

Aguarela para Desenho Científico - Watercolor to Scientific Drawing

This is some work for my Drawing master's degree at the Fine Arts Faculty in Lisbon in 2007. I did this two types of Quercus with watercolor (dry technique) as an exercise for Scientific Drawing.


Este é um trabalho para o meu mestrado em Desenho na Faculdade de Belas Artes em Lisboa em 2007. Eu fiz este dois tipos de Quercus com aguarela (técnica seca) como exercício para Desenho Científico.

To be or not to be

O retoque final: Verniz, grafite, pastel seco e mais verniz. Com a intenção de aumentar a textura do suporte.
The final retouch: Varnish, graphite, dry pastel and more varnish. With the intention of increase the texture of the support.

Decidi continuar com as mesmas tintas, mas incluí uma intervenção com água e pincel.

I decided to go on with the same inks, but include an intervention with water and brush.

Em Évora / At Évora

Divinus Gourmet is a gourmet shop at Évora with high standards of quality from Alentejo's products, but mostly and specially devoted to wine. I was invited from the very first hour to participate with my paintings in the project of the family of Sandra Dourado.

Divinus Gourmet é uma loja gourmet em Évora de produtos alentejanos com elevados padrões de qualidade, mas sobretudo, e especialmente dedicada ao vinho. Fui convidado desde a primeira hora a participar com as minhas pinturas no projecto da família de Sandra Dourado.

I have to decide what to do with the background of this composition. If I leave everything nearest to white and let the surface with collage and acrylic plaster be visible or made an intervention with liquid materials ( vieux chaine and ink Winsor & Newton).

Tenho que decidir o que fazer com o segundo plano da composição. Se vou deixar tudo mais próximo do branco e permitir que a superfície, com colagem e gesso acrílico, seja mais visível ou fazer uma intervenção com materiais líquidos (vieux chaine e tinta Winsor & Newton).

I finished this sequence of compositions with 8 x 8 cm. Each column has one ampliation of the precedent composition. The inferior line became the addition ( in ampliation, also) of the precedent and the ampliation from above, in order to obtain a final composition in the last square (the latter in the lower right), resulting from the dynamics of the rest of the page.

Terminei essa sequência de composições com 8 x 8 cm. Cada coluna tem uma ampliação da composição precedente. A linha inferior tornou-se a adição do precedente e da ampliação do quadrado de cima, a fim de obter uma composição final no último quadrado (o último no canto inferior direito), resultante da dinâmica do resto da página.
